On 18 August 2009, the Hong Kong Deposit Protection Board (the Board) published the report on the public consultation of the first phase review on enhancing deposit protection under the Deposit Protection Scheme together with the consultation paper of the second phase review on strengthening the operation of the Scheme. The consultation on the second phase review covers mainly technical amendments for improving payout efficiency and transparency of the coverage of the DPS.
The public consultation on strengthening the operation of the Deposit Protection Scheme ended on 17 October 2009.
